Peter S Heslam is Director of Faith in Business. This is a part-time post (two days per week). Peter's research, writing and speaking is wide ranging within the general field of whole-life Christianity. Some of it is focused on the interface of business, faith and development. Although largely overlooked, he believes greater understanding of this interface will help deliver practical change that increases human and environmental well-being. He also has a research focus on the social entrepreneur, statesman and theologian Abraham Kuyper and is inspired by Kuyper’s vision for whole-life discipleship.

Peter has a broad academic background that includes various positions at Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Before them, he was on the faculty of the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity (LICC), the Cambridge Theological Federation, and Ridley Hall. In his work as a doctoral supervisor at the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies and as a Research Associate of the Cambridge Centre for Christianity Worldwide and the Kirby Laing Centre for Public Theology, he seeks to increase knowledge and understanding of whole-life mission and faith-based cultural engagement.

In directing an international research project on Christian entrepreneurs, Peter has interviewed scores of business leaders in many different countries. He previously directed Transforming Business (a cross-disciplinary project based at Cambridge's Faculty of Divinity, with close ties to Cambridge's Judge Business School) and the Oxford and Cambridge Symposium on Enterprise, Ethics and Development (SEED), and has held various visiting professorships at universities and business schools around the world.

Peter writes an article for every edition of Faith in Business Quarterly and is the editor of God on Monday. This series of short weekly reflections, produced in partnership with the Church of England, are designed to help people live out their faith in ordinary everyday life, including in their work (sign up here). He is involved in an honorary capacity in various arts projects and in parish work as an ordained minister in the Church of England.

Esther Ngéthe is an experienced accountant who has spent a large part of her professional life working with SMEs. She leverages her academic background in finance to help companies improve their profitability by better managing the financial, operational and investing activities of the company.

Esther has also served with a young adults Christian organization popularly known as K-Krew BS. Its main aim is to create a platform for young people to study the bible together and to grow deeper in their faith. Occasionally, she blogs about some of the lessons she is learning.

Esther's desire for wholesome Christian living where Christian values are not only practiced in church but also in the market place, led to her discovery of Faith in Business. As it helped her find practical ways to put her beliefs to work, she has kept coming back to Faith in Business ever since. Now she is enthralled that she gets to serve on its volunteer team of enthusiastic, grounded and talented business people.

Andrew is an IT entrepreneur and has founded a number of businesses in the IT and telecoms sector. Although he has exited most of these in the last few years, Andrew is still involved with the National Trade Association and in an industry delivery group as a non-executive director.

On founding his first company, Bridge Partners, in 2001 Andrew knew that he needed to reconcile his faith and work. David has spent his career as an engineer, inventor, entrepreneur, and community figurehead. In 1970 his idea of making specialist sands for the concrete industry led to his founding the David Ball Group (DBG), which exports quality sands all over the world. As the global market leader, the group also produces the world’s first and most successful concrete waterproofing compound, PUDLO. A strong believer in ‘giving back’ to the community, David is an Anglican lay minister and is actively involved in several local charities and initiatives, including the Chaplaincy to People at Work, Q103 Kidz, Anglia Ruskin University, Westcott House, and the Greater Cambridge Partnership.

As Co-founder and CEO of Ethical Apparel Africa, Keren Pybus brings over 25 years of experience in sourcing, merchandising, and retail operations. Her passion for ethical manufacturing drove her to start Ethical Apparel Africa (EAA). It operates with a model that proves that living wages and worker empowerment are not mutually exclusive with cost-competitive product and profit. Today EAA manufactures mass market apparel from its factories in Ghana, mainly for export to the USA.

Keren has worked all over the world. This has included spending three years in Bangladesh to set up and run the George sourcing office. She has worked both with large retailers such as Walmart UK/South Africa and with small-scale artisan suppliers. She is based in London with her husband and daughter.

Keren has been involved in Faith in Business since 2016 when she attended its annual conference in Cambridge. Faith in Business has inspired Keren to develop a theological understanding of work, combined with learning from the shared experiences of others in the Faith in Business network. This has significantly helped her in her role as CEO of Ethical Apparel Africa, especially in working in a cross-cultural environment. She is an active part of the Faith in Business prayer ministry team.
